IAEA Director General Calls For Greater Access to Nuclear Power

At the International Conference on Access to Civil Nuclear Energy, hosted on Monday, 8 March 2010 by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation, the Nuclear Energy Agency, and the French Government, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano highlighted in his address the Agency´s role in assisting all Member States to consider, introduce and use nuclear power knowledgeably, profitably, safely and securely.

In conjunction with the Conference, the French newspaper Le Monde published an opinion article by Director General Amano, outlining the vital role of international cooperation in ensuring that nuclear power can be introduced and used beneficially, responsibly and sustainably by developed and developing economies alike.
