Studsvik AB wins SEK28m ( USD 3 Million ) waste treatment contract from Swedish nuclear power plant

Swedish technology company Studsvik AB said on Monday that it has secured a SEK28m ( USD 3 Million ) contract to treat metallic waste from the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant in Sweden. The contract, awarded by the operator OKG, covers the analysis, decontamination and melting of 1,400 tonnes of metal components in connection with the modernisation of reactor 3 at the Oskarshamn plant.
""This is a large contract for Studsvik, with a volume equivalent to almost half of a full years production for our Swedish facility,"" commented Magnus Groth. Studsvik, headquartered in Sweden, offers technical services to the international nuclear power industry. The company has 1,200 employees in eight countries and reported a net turnover of SEK1.3bn ( USD 162 Million ) in 2007.
